Domaine Olivier Merlin Pouilly-Fuissé Les Chevrières 2021 armagnac Supple and rich

Supple and rich

The nose has a warmer spice note

quinine and crunchy pear fruit and a wonderfully tonic finish

The wine was aged in some second fill and older French barriques and Hungarian hogsheads for 18 months prior to bottling without fining or filtration

with citrus and floral aromas to balance out the minerality

Domaine Olivier Merlin Pouilly-Fuissé Les Chevrières 2021 armagnac Supple and richThis vineyard is situated in the village of Chaintr, and Olivier draws comparisons to the neighbouring Clos des Quarts. The difference, he explains, is that Chevrires is more fruity and less mineral. He lost about 35% of the crop to frost and has 9 barrels of sturdy and earthily satisfying wine.
